ABOUT ME

I began my career in education over 25 years ago when I first trained as a Montessori teacher. After gaining my degree in education I progressed into working in early intervention and family support roles. During this time I qualified as an infant massage instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage, and I also became a parent group leader delivering a variety of parenting courses. However, in 2012 I suffered a period of prolonged illness; which led me to mindfulness. I completed an 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course which had such a positive impact on me and my life, I began to feel passionate about helping others realise the many benefits. So in 2017 I successfully completed a year of study at Oxford University's Mindfulness Centre to become a Mindfulness Teacher. I have also recently qualified as a Mindfulness in Schools teacher which I am very excited about.

I deliver the 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course (MBCT), Mindfulness in Schools .b program, parenting programs such as The Parenting Puzzle and Toolkit, Infant Massage classes, as well as 1:1 coaching and bespoke sessions privately and in schools.

MINDFULNESS

"Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non judgmentally."

Jon Kabat-Zinn

Mindfulness is often equated with meditation, and whilst meditation is an extremely powerful way to practice mindfulness, that is not all there is to it. Mindfulness is about moment to moment awareness of your experience 'right here right now' whatever that may be in your day to day life. Including noticing thought patterns in the mind and feelings in the body so they become recognisable at times of stress and joy.

Practicing mindfulness can help you address stress, anxiety and pain or simply to become more self aware. This can help you be more confident, creative, build stronger relationships and ultimately live a life free from being ruled by your thoughts, as you develop the ability to choose how to respond to them rather than habitually reacting.

I offer an 8 week Mindfulness based Cognitive therapy Course (MBCT)  which follows a specific evidence based curriculum or I can tailor individual bespoke sessions depending on need. I also offer the Mindfulness in Schools .b programme and sessions for staff. All are taught in an entirely secular way and can be on-line or in person.

Fees:

£50 per individual session (50 minutes)

£200 per person for an 8 week course (2 hours a week for 8 weeks in a group)

£100 per group, per session, for the .b mindfulness in schools programme. (.b can also be offered to individuals).

Concessions offered for low income individuals and students

Sessions may be offered as a formal group, small group of friends or 1:1.
